Three of our faculty members had a busy November presenting recent work on English education. At the Utah Council of Teachers of English virtual conference, Dr. Amy Piotrowski participated in a panel on digital literacy and online teaching, while Dr. Jessica Rivera-Mueller moderated a panel on culturally responsive teaching. The following week, Dr. Piotrowski and Amanda Plaizier, a doctoral student in literacy education, shared their research findings at the National Council of Teachers of English virtual convention. Their presentation, “Preservice English Teachers Developing Critical Digital Literacies,” will be published as a chapter in the forthcoming book Critical Digital Literacies: Boundary-Crossing Practices.
