Brittney Mackins (BS English, 2014) is currently working in Allentown, Pennsylvania as a part time competitive team coach at Parkette gymnastics, where she is responsible for the level 6 team (children between 8-11 years old). She also works as a part time EMT for her local ambulance company, Cetronia Ambulance Corps. She is using this experience to help strengthen her medical skills before starting nursing school at DeSales University in May 2017, where, she says, “I will endure their vigorous 15-month accelerated BSN program while having the luxury of living at home, as it is 10 minutes away.” In the future, Brittney plans to continue her education by getting a Master's Degree in nursing and will either become a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Anesthetist. Of these plans Brittney says, “Either route seems feasible, as long as I am able to help others and improve the quality of medicine for the future.” In addition to her medical work, Brittney also competes in bodybuilding figure competitions, and she has won first place twice in her first three competitions!
