Matthew James Babcock Releases Third Book in a Year
Matthew James Babcock (BA, '95) has published his third book in a year. Heterodoxologies, published by Educe Press in Butte, Montana, is a personal essay collection that covers a diverse range of topics, including body dysmorphic disorder, bowling alleys, Jane Austen, scabies, breakdancing, bullying, and imaginary towns in Indiana. Heterodoxologies comes on the heels of Babcock's debut poetry chapbook, Points of Reference (Folded Word) and his debut full-length poetry collection, Strange Terrain (MadHat Press), which recently won the Association of Mormon Letters Prize for Best Book of Poetry. Babcock's debut fiction collection, Future Perfect, is forthcoming from Engine/Ferry Street Books in 2017.
