Naomie Barnes Accepted into Folklore PhD Program in Newfoundland, Canada

Congratulatons to our colleague, Naomie Barnes, who has been accepted into the Folklore PhD program at Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada.

She graduated from Arizona State University in 2009 with a B.A. in Literature and recently graduated from Utah State University in 2015 with an M.A. in American Studies (Folklore).
She began teaching 1010 and 2010 at USU in 2013 as a Graduate Instructor and continues to teach as an adjunct.

She will focus her research at Memorial University on Folklore and Gender Studies, specifically researching rape culture and silence within the LDS community. She’s excited for this next step in her education and will begin her coursework this September.
